I have been out and about with a lot of children just lately and just want to say that I have always come back feeling very proud to be a teacher at Lidget Green. I don’t think I have had to be grumpy with any of the children while we’ve been out. They have behaved really well, listened and watched carefully, asked intelligent questions and generally been a credit to themselves, their families and the school. Well done, and keep it up!

I can’t believe it is more than six months since I posted on here – I can’t believe that I have not been a grumpy old teacher in all that time! The snow certainly made me very grumpy and here it is, back again.

Citizenship tokens

I am glad the citizenship tokens are going so well – I love being able to reward good manners and thoughtful behaviour.

HOWEVER,,, if you rush ahead to open a door, pushing people out of the way, it does not count as good manners.

Some jokes for Red Nose Day – a bit late.

One of my favourite jokes is a very very old one – maybe even Victorian, Year 5. It goes:

“I say I say I say. My dog has no nose.”

“Your dog has no nose? Then how does he smell?”

“TERRIBLE!”

If you get that one (you don’t have to think it is funny, you just have to understand it), here is another, not so old one:

“I say I say I say. My dog has no dictionary.”

“Your dog has no dictionary? Then how does he spell?”

“TERRIBLE!”

Again, it doesn’t matter if you don’t think it is funny. I will laugh enough for both of us.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

The ’studio’ was NOT a pretty sight when I went in there on Wednesday after you had all finished having lunch. PLEASE try to keep your food on the plate or the fork until it goes into your mouth.
